How to play

Hot Chix 'n Gear Stix is a high adrenaline racing game featuring '70s Muscle cars. Your aim is to become crowned the hottest chick around by winning every race within the Hot Chix championship.

If you don't fancy your chances in the championship just yet, you can practice the tracks using the time trial mode. Here you can learn the best routes and find the fastest racing line without any other cars getting in your way.

If you haven't bought the full version of Hot Chix, the demo version of the game will give you a feel for what it's all about: this is a cut down version of the game you can try before you buy. If you have fun playing and would like some more, please purchase the full game. It includes more tracks, cars, chix and even more action!

Getting Started

To start the game
  • Click on the Windows Start button (usually on the bottom bar on your screen)
  • Move the arrow up to the 'Programs' option
  • Move the mouse over to the 'SmallRockets' option
  • Move the mouse over to the 'Hot Chix 'n Gear Stix' option
  • To start the game click on the 'Run the game' option
The game will take a couple of seconds to load, and you'll then be presented with the Chix main menu, from which you can set up your game. If you have problems getting the game started you might want to have a look at the technical support pages.

To start the game click on 'race' on the bottom right hand corner of the screen. If you're not happy with the choice of car or chick, from the Chix main menu, click on the options on the left hand side of the screen to set the game up to suit you.

The cars and chicks each have their own handling characteristics - so you may want to try them out first and see which one best suits you.
Click on 'Car Select' to get into the car/chick selection screen. Use the left and right arrow buttons to select which car or chick you want to control. Once you are happy with your selection, click on 'race' to start the game.

If you're finding the going a little tough, try honing your driving skills in 'time trial' mode.
To select time trial mode click on 'mode select' and click on the left and right arrow buttons in the game section. This will toggle between 'time trial' and 'championship' mode.
Note: you must have accessed a track in championship mode to be able to play it in time trial mode.

Controls

Hot Chix can be controlled using a keyboard, joystick or steering wheel.

Keyboard controls

SpaceHand brake

To fine tune your steering, try tapping the left and right keys.
Holding the left or right keys down when travelling at high speed will automatically send the car into a power slide, an essential skill if you're going to beat the other Chix.
You can pull off even more severe power slides by using the handbrake. Although this will slow you down a bit, your car will swing round corners far more than just steering ever would!

Steering Wheel Controls

The following steering wheels been tested successfully with Chix:

  • Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback Steering Wheel and Pedals
  • Thrustmaster Sprint Steering Wheel and Pedals
  • Thrustmaster Nascar Super Sport Steering Wheel and Pedals
  • SC&T Ultimate Per4mer Steering Wheel and Pedals
  • Interact V3 Racing Wheel & Pedals
  • Interact V4 Force Racing Wheel & Pedals
  • CH Products EXL500 Racing Wheel & Pedals.

(Note: The game supports no Force Feedback interaction, hence there is no particular benefit in using the Force Feedback function found on some of these devices.)

Joystick

Chix can be controlled using a four-button joystick, with buttons used for accelerate and brake.
