Getting started
Overview
Your boat is both powered and steered by a jet of water. It has the most maneuverability when you are
accelerating. Take your finger off the accelerator and you may just drift into
the shore. You must try and navigate through buoys placed around the course. If you
miss three in a row you will be thrown out of the race!
The game takes place in three different environments
- Aqua marine - in the crystal clear waters
- Urban - through the canals of an industral complex
- New world - through tribal villages, and epic buildings
Your craft also has a turbo ability. This resource is limited - the more gates you
successfully navigate the more turbo will be available.
Starting the game
To start the game
- Click on the Windows 'Start button' (usually on the bottom bar on your screen)
to get the Start menu
- Move the arrow up to the 'Programs' option
- Move the mouse over to the 'SmallRockets' option
- Move the mouse over to the 'Jetboat Superchamps' option
- To start the game click on the 'Run the game' icon
Jetboat will take a couple of seconds to load, and you'll then be
presented with a menu within which you can set up your game. If you have
problems getting Jetboat started you might want to have a look at the
technical support pages.
Click on the options on the left hand side of the screen to set up your race. To start
your game click on 'race' on the bottom right hand corner of the screen.
In order to hone your driving skills you can play tracks in 'time trial' mode.
To select time trial mode choose 'game mode' and choose your preferred option.
Game modes
Arcade
Race against the Superchamps to prove you're the fastest of them all.
No prizes for losers - only first place will do if you're to succeed.
Win the races to unlock the courses and characters.
Time Trial
Race solo against the clock, passing through the gates, slalom style.
Beat the clock to unlock new courses and characters.
The gates
1 ) If you miss a gate you get a time penalty of 10 seconds.
2 ) If you miss three gates you are out of the race.
3 ) If you get four gates in a row, you are given one life
(gate) back.
