Where/what are the free games?

You can download and play for free the demos for all of our games. The 'free games' allow you to access the full version of a game without having to pay for a licence code. With the ESD games you need to purchase a licence code in order to access a full version of a game.

As usual you have to download the demo version of the game from the download page for the game in question. Once installed you need to set a licence code. The free games have their licence codes listed in the 'free licences' section of your account page when your are logged in. To access this page you need to login through the 'account' page. If you are not registered with us, doing so is quick, easy, and free!

Why are these games free?

We are making these games available partly out of the goodness of our hearts ;), but mainly because they now have compatibility issues with Windows XP which cannot be fixed. They generally work well on 95, 98 and ME based systems.

Credit card name - I thought they were free?

When you enter the licence code on you computer to access the full version of the game it mentions 'the name on your credit card'. In fact you need to use the name listed on the 'free licences' page, on your account page.

I'm having problems - how do I get help?

These games are made available for free - and SmallRockets can't afford to support people who have not purchased the games. Therefore we are unable to service any requests from the usage of the free versions or demo versions of the games - sorry.

That said you may be able to find your answer to support problems in the forums or within support pages for the specific games.

The game doesn't work - help!

If your trying to play the game on XP, you may be out of luck. Unfortunately the games were originally developed for 95,98 and ME based systems and do not work on many XP based systems. If you are playing on a 95,98 or ME based system you may find your answers on the games support pages, or in the forums.

How do I play a free game?

You need to download the game from the downloads page as usual. Install the download, you will now be able to play the demo of the game. If you want to play the full version for free you must be a registered user. If you have already purchased something with us, or registered with us all you need to do is register and go to the 'free licences' screen which will list your licence codes. To use a code follow the instructions on the page. If you have problems goto the page on licence codes.
