Where do I get graphics drivers from?

Where do I get graphics drivers from?

You can update some drivers just by using Windows Update. But if that doesn't work or if you want or need the latest drivers you'll need to go to the manufacturers website.

Theres two types of manufacturers that count - the actual manufacturer of the card, and the manufacturer of the graphics chip set you are using. The manufacturer of the chipsets typically have drivers which work on any manufacturers cards - so generally its the easiest place to go for a driver. Its also a good strategy because there are less chip manufacturers than card manufacturers.

How do you find out what graphics chipset you are using? Easiest way is to run dxdiag.

Websites for common card manufacturers

 nVidia (http://www.nvidia.com)
 ATI (http://www.atitech.com)
 Intel (http://www.intel.com)
 Matrox (http://www.matrox.com)
 3d Labs (http://www.3dlabs.com)

If your manufacturer in the list you can always try and look it up on Google.
